Red Oak Realty Rings in the New Year

It's hard to believe 2008 is behind us.

What a fantastic year!

In the midst of a Nationwide economic downturn, the real estate market here in WV continues to thrive. In 2008, Red Oak Realty proudly boasts 82 completed sales with 42 addtional ones awaiting to close.

In 2008 we opened our 5th Red Oak Realty office located in scenic Franklin WV and welcomed four bright new agents to the Red Oak Realty family.

Our WV Mineral pool has grown to over 45,500 acres and we are successfully bringing in mulitple offers to our pool members.

All in all it's been a wonderful, prosperous year.

A Little Road Kill Anyone?

If you're looking for a great weekend escape put downtown Marlinton WV on your calendar for September 27th. Come and join us for the 16th annual Road Kill Cook-off! It's all in the name and yes, I typed correctly. It's road kill. Or could be. The fare is 'anything goes' and you are sure to find some unique and surprisingly tasty cuisine as the menus will feature animals you would normally see on the sides of our scenic WV roads.
The cooking begins at 11 a.m.; the judging begins at 2 p.m.; and the tasting beings when you can muster the nerve!

The Next American Goldrush ... Do you own Mineral Rights in WV?

The Marcellus Shale. It's now music to the ears of landowners and mineral owners in small towns across West Virginia.
New faces are appearing every day knocking on our doors and offering to give landowners more cash in hand for a lease of their minerals than most orginally paid for their entire farm.
Sadly, many owners signed those leases for 10.00 an acre or even 50.00 an acre and laughed all the way to the bank. What they failed to realize and what the landman didn't tell them was tomorrow their neighbor would be offered 100.00 an acre then 200.00 an acre and higher.
Fact is, most all of West Virginia, Pennsylvania and part of New York sits atop the Marcellus Shale. A shale layer that literally dwarfs the Barnett, the Fayettville and all other shale formations in the United States.
